I totally understand on a deeper level what Kenny is referring to…it’s not about me…it’s about the gifts and talents I am blessed to have that go through me to those that are touched by them.

You have a gift of reaching others and allowing them to share their story on a level that I trust does not happen often for them. The two of you consistently amaze me with your passion for music. That passion for music and your passion for transforming lives make me happy each day that I think of the two of you.

There was something else I appreciated when reading Kenny’s comments about being a “vehicle” for the love that is shared when he plays his guitar. A couple weeks ago, I met a family to talk to them about a funeral for their brother. When I walked in the front door, one of his sisters saw me and said, “You look really familiar. Do you do services for other funeral homes?” Through a couple more questions we arrived at the truth that I had been the minister at their mother’s service seven years previously. Another sister told me that she hadn’t wanted to speak at her mom’s service, but there had been something I said that day that inspired her to approach the microphone. She couldn’t remember at all what it was that I had said, but it had transformed her thinking.

As I drove home from our meeting, I thought about how overjoyed I was that people don’t remember specifics about me when I’m ministering to them. What they do remember is feeling comfort, passion for doing positive things that they thought they couldn’t do, and the beginnings of healing from the tragic loss they’ve suffered. I don’t care that they don’t remember my name or other inconsequential specifics; like Kenny, I’m just glad that I could be a vehicle!

You both are in my heart.
